Violinist/violist and composer Leah Asher is a multi-faceted artist that seeks to bridge artistic worlds through interdisciplinary work and collaboration. As a composer of graphic scores, Leah has been commissioned by numerous solo performers as well as such ensembles as The Nouveau Classical Project, neoLIT ensemble, and NorthArc Percussion Group. A recipient of the Festspillene i Nord-Norge Young Artist Stipend, Leah is collaborating with Eugene Kim to create a day-long performance installation for the 2015 festival. Leah studied at Oberlin Conservatory and College, Manhattan School of Music, and the University of California, San Diego. She currently serves as the principal violist of the Bodø Sinfonietta and the Arctic Philharmonic.
