Uno Alexander Vesje (1989) is a Norwegian harpist and composer. Uno studied harp at The Manhattan School of Music in New York City and The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, receiving his Master’s degree in 2014. In 2017 Uno finished his Masters in Composition with professor Ståle Kleiberg at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Uno has won a number of prizes and scholarships as a harp composer, as well as a performer of the instrument itself. Twice he has being given the Norwegian Art Councils Art Grant, both as harpist and as a composer. In 2013 he won third prize in the International Edvard Grieg Composition Contest.
As a soloist, Uno has performed with orchestras like The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and world premiered his own Harp Concerto with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra & Opera. As a performer of his own composition Uno had his international debut in Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2016. After the debut Uno has been invited to perform in prestigious venues like the World Harp Congress, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Amphitheater and University Aula in Oslo. Uno has released two albums with his own compositions, “Poems From a City” (2014) and “Oslo(ve)” (2017).
